New Engine Capabilities 

This new engine is called the Pentastar V6, and it houses Dodge's ultimate powertrain capabilities. This new Ram pickup comes in various trim styles, but in the SLT, this 3.6L engine comes standard. So how much power are we talking about? The 1500 is capable of producing 305 hp 269 lb-ft of torque.

That's a 42 percent increase in horsepower, enabling up to 6,500 pounds of towing and an 8.0 second 0-60 mph time while offering an improved fuel economy over the last V6 thanks to the new class-exclusive eight-speed transmission. A rotary "e-shift" button, located on the instrument panel, controls this only available gearbox.
